UIL - Pottsboro harrier edged in controversial finish

ROUND ROCK -- It wasn't what Pottsboro's Nathan Collier wanted or expected, and the end result could best be described as shock after a photo finish against one of his top two competitors.

Collier, who had a gold medal on his mind, finished second to Hance Loyd of Holliday. The two had identical times of 16:11.93 and had to go to Acutrack to decide a winner. Verbal and written appeals were made, and the final decision didn't come until two hours later ruling Loyd's torso finished slightly ahead of Collier.

"It's unbelievable, and I really don't know how to put it into words," Pottsboro coach Karen Slagle said. "It was hard for Nathan, and there wasn't much I could say to make him feel better. I told him.....READ MORE
